Eudora IMAP

1. These directions will only work with Eudora in Paid (Pro) or Sponsored mode. Eudora cannot handle multiple personalities in Light mode. If you are using Eudora in Light mode, we suggest switching to Sponsored or Paid mode, or using a different email client.

2. Click on the "Personalities" tab (the tab with two faces on it).

3. Right click on your current personality and select "New".

4. Select "Create a brand new email account", then click "Next".

5. Enter a name for this account in the "Personality Name:" field then select "Next". This is the name that will appear in the Personality list.

6. Enter your name in the "Your Name:" field. This is the name that you would like to appear in the From: field of any email messages that you send, then click "Next"

7. Enter your full email address in the "Email Address" field. Click "Next".

8. Enter "imap.hostedemail.com" in the "Incoming Server" field, then select "IMAP". Then click "Next".

9. The next screen will ask you for an IMAP Location Prefix. You can ignore this screen and click "Next".

10. Enter "mail.hostedemail.com" in the "Outgoing Server" field. Make sure "Allow authentication" is left ticked. Click "Next"

11. You will now see the "set-up success" screen. Click "Finish" to create the account.

12. An "Enter Password" screen will appear. Enter your password in the required field and click "OK".

13. Next right click on your new personality and click "Properties".

14. Under "SMTP Server", ensure "Authentication allowed" is ticked. Click the drop-down menu under "Secure Sockets when Sending" and select "Never" from the menu.

15. Click the "Incoming Mail" tab and make sure that "Never" is selected from the drop-down menu under "Secure Sockets when Sending". Click "OK" and your set-up is complete!
